University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour (UPPA)A university of excellence serving a territory
The University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour is one of the French universities with the I-SITE (Initiatives Science Innovation, Territoires, Économie) label.
The University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) has been awarded the "Investissement d'avenir" label for two reasons: it is recognised as a university of excellence with the E2S UPPA project, Solutions for Energy and the Environment, led by the UPPA, INRA, Inria and CNRS consortium (I-SITE label) and with the SPACE project, Progressive and Accompanied Specialisation of the Student Curricula (NCU label, New University Courses).
Multidisciplinary and multisite, UPPA benefits from an exceptional working environment on 5 campuses on a human scale: Pau, Bayonne, Anglet, Mont-de-Marsan and Tarbes.
The UPPA prepares more than 13,800 students to obtain a hundred or so degrees from Bac+1 to Bac+8, in law, economics, management, literature, languages, human sciences, sport, science and technology.
With 19 research units, 34 high-level expertise chairs and 9 common labs in association with major research organisations (CNRS, INRAe, Inria) and institutional and industrial partners, UPPA is a major player in the scientific and economic development of southern Aquitaine.
Thanks to its international cooperation, UPPA is also active at the European level with the European Universities Label for the UNITA project, Universitas Montium, which brings together, in addition to UPPA, the universities of Turin (Italy), Savoie Mont Blanc and Covilhã-Beira (Portugal), Timisoara Ouest (Romania) and Zaragoza (Spain), which is in addition to the EDENE project (European Doctoral Programme in Energy and Environment), which allows the financing of 30 international doctoral students in the field of Energy and Environment and in partnership with several local industrial players.
