PYREN, programme transfrontalier pour l’enseignement supérieur franco-espagnolIDEFI label, Initiatives of Excellence in Innovative Training
PYREN is a cross-border programme for French-Spanish higher education. It associates the University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour and the Spanish public universities of the Basque Country, Navarre and Aragon. It is one of the 36 Initiatives of Excellence in Innovative Training (IDEFI) financed by the Programme Investissements d'Avenir.
PYREN brings together 17 courses from the University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour in a multidisciplinary and trilingual higher education programme of knowledge sharing and mobility, where professional integration is increased. Its objectives are to develop the mobility of students and teachers on both sides of the Pyrenees and to develop high-level training courses corresponding to a profile that is easily identifiable on the labour market, and presenting a multidisciplinary dimension that gives them additional value.
This programme corresponds to a major strategic axis for UPPA and the region, and aims to anchor it better in its territory by creating a European, cross-border, trilingual and multidisciplinary university.
Certain actions are financed by the territorial authorities: Aquitaine Regional Council, Pyrénées-Atlantiques General Council, Pau-Pyrenees Urban Community.
