2024-10 Cultural heritage hub meetings

UPPA welcomed 43 teacher-researchers as part of the Cultural Heritage hub meetings

From 17 to 18 October 2024, the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour organised the matching event of the Cultural Heritage hub, the theme of which was: Green Heritage: Rethinking Rural Areas in the 21st Century.

The aim of the event, which was dedicated to bringing together teacher-researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest in this theme, was to encourage meetings and the emergence of new collaborative projects.

The first morning was devoted to welcoming participants and presenting the objectives of the Cultural Heritage hub, the CHORAL project and the inaugural lecture by Carlos Labarta, Professor of Architecture at the University of Zaragoza. In the afternoon, the teacher-researchers were able to present their research activities in 90 seconds, to give an initial overview of their areas of research.

This was followed by 8 sessions of bilateral meetings at which the teacher-researchers exchanged ideas and explored avenues for collaboration based on their common interests.

Finally, the afternoon of Friday 18 October was devoted to presenting the funding opportunities offered by the UNITA alliance, in particular the starting grants.

A call for starting grants funding was published on this same theme from mid-November, dedicated to supporting projects involving at least 3 UNITA partners. All tenured lecturers at UPPA were able to respond to this call, whether or not they took part in the matching event.

These matching events are a flagship scheme to encourage research collaboration within the UNITA alliance. Between now and June 2025, two events of this type will be organised for each hub in the various UNITA universities. UPPA's teaching and research staff will be invited to participate in the near future.
